Work Space.

One of the most fun things about doing this blog is picking genres, coming up with films and picking the films to test.

Here is the current poll for new the next set of rules to be tested.

Whatever wins the next vote will, of course, be tested and removed from the voting until it has been finished being tested.

The last result was a tie between Zombie Films and Fantasy Films, so I've decided to do one then the other.

Whatever loses the next poll will be removed from the poll.  Removed from the voting (due to coming last on a previous polls) are:
Exploitation Films
I've decided to have just sub-genre of this type of film at a time.  The current poll item is "Nudie Cuties"
  • Erotic Thrillers. [10]
  • Gorno/Torture Porn.  [7]

[1]  Next genre to add to poll.

I've had some suggestions from people in various places, but lost most of them... but here are some I can remember:
  • Science Fiction - Too wide a genre, so limiting it to Space Opera, Alien Invasions, Time Travel, Post Apocalyptic films, etc, would be better.
  • Westerns - As a kid they used to replay these during holidays and even then I quickly got sick of them because of the formula.  More recent revisionist Westerns are better - but I don't know if they have a formula.  But worth considering.
  • Film Noir - Certainly doable.
  • Heist Films - Also doable.
  • Black Comedy.
  • Superhero Films.
I'm not too stuck on defining genre.  Bond Films isn't really a genre, and Manic Pixie Dream Girls is a character type rather than a genre, so think outside the box.

So comment below.  Beg for a genre removed from the poll to be returned.  Suggest new ones.  Tell me if existing ones shouldn't be on the list.

SUGGESTIONS:
  • Adaptations (changes from Primary Source) - Suggest by +Satia Renee on Breakfast at Triffany's (Manic Pixie Dream Girls).  A really good idea.  Goes beyond genre, but gets to the heart of what this blog is about.  Certainly worth looking at. [ADDED TO POLL]
  • Classic Adventure.  Suggested by +Ulf Hansen on Google+.  Also special mention of films that break the formula.
  • Pixar - Suggested by +Chris Curtis on Google+.  [ADDED TO POLL (As Disney Animation)
